Senior Product Manager - Amazon

Voice-first experiences are the next frontier in customer experience and
Alexa is leading the way. As a Senior Product Manager (Technical) on the
team you will be accountable for building products for creators of these
cutting edge experiences. We are looking for a product manager who loves
working with builders and help them bring new experiences and products
to life. Not only do you understand the needs of consumers but you also
understand those who build for consumers whether they're developers,
designers, or power users. You have strong oral and written communication
skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and
persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the
organization.

You will be on the team responsible for shipping
Alexa Presentation Language (APL), Alexa Web API for Games, and most
recently, APL for Audio. These tools give creators a way to add visuals,
touch, and remote interactions to Alexa; bring new interactive games to
the voice-first world and enable delightful audio mixing in real time. You
will work with a team of world class engineers, designers, and marketers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of the product strategy and vision supported by internal and external analysis
• Define high quality product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision
• Develop detailed business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture
• Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key partners
• Define ways to measure the success of our products and inform future direction
• Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, developer experience, and operational costs
• Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to deliver products to market
• Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
• Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
• Experience with end to end product delivery
• Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Past experience working as a developer or experience working with developers or designers as customers
• Enough knowledge of coding and design to understand features developers need
• Demonstrated expertise in extracting, manipulating, and understanding data to do draw conclusions and drive new programs
• Experience in developing new metrics and monitoring systems to increase understanding of business performance
• Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Professional product or project management experience
• MBA, engineering or similarly relevant advanced degree in applied sciences
• Professional experience defining products and working with business and technical leaders to bring them to market
• Knowledge and understanding of statistical, economic, and econometric principles and the ability to apply those to data modelling
• Experience developing SQL queries and working with related business intelligence systems and tools
• Basic coding experience with any programming language
• Experience performing data mining and analysis utilizing advanced data analysis tools and statistical software packages for Multivariate Regression & Correlation Analysis
